the first post of the new year! i bought my wife a teddy bear for the new year because he was all alone and lonely on the shelf and he looked so soft and cuddly for her. he is very nice. oh yes indeed what a good bear. i think i’m going to start writing children’s books and publishing them on cafepress… that would rock. yeah!

final fantasy 4 advance

Saturday, December 17th, 2005

yay! now a trip down memory lane where i can return to my roots and talk about ff4. this page was originally a final fantasy fan page so like, yeah. it’s all good and stuff. i’m very pleased with the new ff4 port, just like i was pleased with ff1&2:dos. it’s great and this game rocks. also, tellah still says this:

so you know it’s gotta be good. go out and buy it now. if you don’t, i don’t know what to tell you, but you’re missing out. now i’m going back to playing this fine game.

strange parallels between the guinan and mario bros

Saturday, November 19th, 2005

1. tomas was born in 1981. mario’s first game was released in 1981. alan was born in 1983. luigi’s first game was released in 1983.
2. alan, the younger brother, is also the taller brother. same goes for luigi.
3. tomas’s favorite colors are red and blue. mario wears red and blue. alan’s favorite color is green. luigi wears green.

unm, that’s all i could think of for now. ooooooh… creepy parallel universe stuff!

my wonderful new controller

Sunday, November 6th, 2005

i haven’t owned a controller for my pc since way back when i got a cheap knockoff mad catz version of the gravis gamepad which was in a snes controller shell. ah those were the days. i used to use that thing to play nesticle all the time. anyway, i wanted a controller, but a decent one costs like $40. even the cheapest logitech pads i could find were like $30 and they looks like crap. so then i found out about xbox controllers just being usb and you can hack them up. so i found a cheap used knockoff mad catz version of the xbox controller s for $10, took a usb cable lying around my house, and started cutting. but then i couldn’t find any electrical tape and i realized i had no soldering iron. so 5 mins of twisting and duct tape later i have a controller that works anwyay. it’s not too bad, except that i really don’t like the xbox controller all that much, but it works better than my keyboard. my favorite part of it is how half the wire is black, then there’d duct tape, and the other half is white. that’s a quality job right there!

funny is a stupid word

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005

whoever thought up the word funny is an idiot. i can’t believe someone would invent such a stupid word. it’s flat out retarded. i mean really, who uses words like that. then you’ve got people who use it in a plural form, like they call comic strips “funnies”. that’s even stupider. i don’t know why anyone would bother saying something like that. it doesn’t make any sense at all. sometimes i need a nap, and sometimes my job sucks. that’s about all for today.

hockey

Thursday, October 13th, 2005

the nhl being back got me thinking about hockey. i used to really like hockey, but i haven’t watched it much at all in about the past 10 years or so. i haven’t really watched any sports in the past 10 years to be honest. i used to love hockey and baseball, then when i hit puberty that all pretty much went down the tubes. anyway, i’ve decided how they could make hockey cool again. they should give it the same rules as blades of steel and then it would be totally worth watching. that way you’d have stuff like the only penalty ever given is the penalty for losing a fight. that’s a rule that definitely should be implimented. as well, players should be allowed in the goal crease whenever they want to make it easier to score goals, but in return the goalie is allowed to smack the player to the ground mercilessly with his stick and the player can’t do anything about it. also, a giant red arrow needs to float above the goalie showing the players where to shoot. that would rock. to top it off, a sound chip with a voice clip of don cherry yelling “hit the pass!” needs to be put inside every hockey puck. if they did that to hockey, it would definitely be worth watching. um, yeah.
