mario kart wii

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

ok, so i got mario kart wii on friday. i honestly wasn’t sure about the steering wheel. i thought i would just plug in my classic controller and play it oldskewl but i figured since it was there i’d give the wheel a try. it’s actually pretty darn fun. i’m not sure if i play better with or without it as i’ve only plowed through 50cc so far, but right now i don’t even care cuz it’s so much fun to play with. it kind of reminds me of when i was a kid, and i’d be playing nintendo. just out of instinct i used to kind of turn the controller left or right along with the game if i was getting really really into it. of course it didn’t do anything, but i was like 8 years old at the time, it didn’t have to do anything. it’s kind of like that, but it actually works. i know that there are other wheel games out there like excite truck and some other ubisoft crap that comes with a black wheel, but i never played any of it. my only driving experience with the wii before this was wario ware. anyway, i’m impressed and it’s fun. yup. there’s only one thing that makes no sense. if king boo is a ghost and he hovers above his kart, then why is he considered heavy? aren’t ghosts made of… nothing? i mean… he’s floating! i guess it doesn’t have to make too much sense though, it’s just mario kart.

controller controller revolution

Friday, September 16th, 2005

oh yeah, i gotta give myself points for the original post title! anyway, um, this is what i think about the revolution controller. i’m not sure what to think yet. i’d be lyoing if i didn’t say i was skeptical, but at the same time i’ve supported nintendo for a long time, and they just recently took something that sounded stupid with the ds and made it work really really well, so who knows, right? basically, if you really think about it it looks like a combination nes controller/zapper/power glove tilted on it’s side with an expansion port. will it work? i guess we’ll find out.
